Piece Of Mind Yoga aims to empower kids from the ages of 4 and up to progress towards improved health and wellness; through a combination of yoga poses, breathing techniques, music, storytelling and unique scents. Owner and Instructor, Alexandra Roldan uses the practice of yoga to help children improve their sensory needs, self confidence, speech production, energy levels, balance, and flexibility while promoting mental peace and clarity. Piece Of Mind Yoga or POMY for short, has a mission to help our students achieve peace of mind through their yoga poses and breathing techniques; as well as provide their families with peace of mind knowing that their child is in a safe and fun environment. Join us for a class, and watch Piece of Mind Yoga become your child’s favorite piece of the wellness puzzle.
MEET THE YOGI
Alexandra Roldan graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology. She has been working with children, including those with special needs, since 2015. Her interest in the mental health of children sparked from her education and work with children over the last several years. Alexandra’s foundation of movement comes from over a decade of gymnastics training as a child. In 2017, she became a movement instructor, which was when she began to discover the amazing benefits that yoga can provide for children. She began to incorporate yoga into her movement sessions and, after seeing its effectiveness, decided to further her education in the subject, becoming certified in Creative Relaxation Yoga Therapy. Alexandra founded POMY in 2018, under the idea that yoga could be used in the lives of children as a piece of the overall health puzzle to promote both physical and mental health from a young age.
