Essential Oil Hype


I’m sure I’m not the the only one that has heard all of the hype about essential oils over the past couple of years. But what you may not know is that essential oils can actually be very useful for you and your children!

Essential oils can aid with:

  • Stress relief

  • Focus

  • Digestion and nausea

  • Skin irritation

  • Mood

  • And more!

At POMY, we use essential oils in every class we teach! Each class begins by practicing breathing exercises, featuring plush toy flowers and some of our favorite essential oils. Before class, the flowers are sprayed with a mixture of water, and a few drops of therapeutic grade lavender (calming) and kidscents geneyus (for focus). We love this breathing exercise almost as much as the children do!

The options for how to use essential oils are almost endless. One way to reap the many health benefits of essential oils is to diffuse oils into the air you breathe.


Some other ways to use essential oils include:

  • Applying oil directly to skin

  • Ingesting oil with water or food

  • Using oils in skin and hair masks

  • Using oils as toxin-free cleaning products

  • Using oils in bath bombs

*only use therapeutic grade oils for ingesting or applying topically


In this series we are going to be exploring a different oil each month. We will discuss what plants the oils are derived from, what their specific benefits are, and how it can benefit your home, your workspace, and your child.
