Hello! Welcome to the POMY Blog. Imagine you're at Disney World, the happiest place in the world, and you're waiting in line with your child to meet their favorite character. Just as you reach the front of the line, an employee walks towards you and says “I’m sorry everyone but Mickey needs a break. We will be back in 20 minutes”. At that moment you look down, and your child is having a full blown tantrum! We have all been there once or twice (or maybe more). But what if I told you that there are strategies you can learn to de-escalate, or even prevent a tantrum?
My name is Alexandra Roldan, and as lead Yogi for POMY, I am excited to share the benefits of creative relaxation yoga therapy with you and your children in our new blog.
What is creative relaxation yoga therapy?
It’s an activity that can help you use yoga techniques to control and de-escalate meltdowns. Studies show that practicing yoga can improve:

...all while promoting mental peace and clarity.
I truly believe that building a healthy life from an early age has to include good mental health practices, and that yoga therapy can be an instrumental piece of the mental health puzzle.
In this weekly blog, I am excited to be sharing valuable information with you like parenting tips, do’s & don’ts, a yoga pose of the month, reasons why yoga can benefit you and your child, as well as articles on the importance of mental health in children.
